Youth at Saint Peter

SPLASH is a Wednesday after school program that meets during the School Year. This year they are watching movies and then learning Scripture and life lessons based on the movies. SPLASH Coordinator is Lyssa Stolte.

The 7th - 8th Grade Youth Group activities are coordinated with the confirmation program and will usually include a couple of field trips and one lock-in each year.

The 9th - 12th Grade Youth Group meets monthly to share a meal, worship, and study and do an activity. In addition to the monthly gathering the group will plan special activities through out the year. Fundraisers for the group include serving Refreshments on Sunday mornings, the Spring Talent Show and Pie Auction and Suppers for Ash Wednesday, Midweek Lent. Each year the group chooses a special outreach project. The group provides opportunity to attend the Annual Fall South Central Synod Youth Convo as well as the ELCA's National Youth Gathering which is held every three years.

Music at Saint Peter

Adult Choir - Music at Saint Peter includes an Adult Choir which practices during the Sunday School hour (9:15-10:15) and participates in the 10:30 service.

Saturday Service Liturgy Group - There are also opportunities to join in singing with the Liturgy Group on Saturday's at the 5:00 service.

Special Music - Individuals and other groups are invited to share special music at any of the worship services. Guest musicians and college choirs are encouraged to perform at Saint Peter.

Education at Saint Peter

Cradle Roll - Christian materials are sent to parents of infants every six months until their third birthday

Sunday School - Sunday School is an opportunity for Pre-K (4 yr.) through High School age children to meet on Sunday morning from 9:15-10:15 during the regular school year.

Adult Bible Class - Adults meet in the Library 9:15 -10:15 during the school year.

Men's Bible and Breakfast - Men of the congregation meet on the 2nd and 4th Thursdays of the month for breakfast and Bible Study. They use the Bible Study in the monthly magazine, Lutheran Woman Today.

Women of the ELCA - have two circles, which meet for fellowship, prayer and study. They use the Bible Study in the monthly magazine, Lutheran Woman Today. Joy Circle meets on the 2nd Wednesday of the month at 9:30am at the church and the Love Circle meets at various locations the 2nd Thursday of the month at 7:30pm

Youth Confirmation - Children in grades 7 & 8 attend Confirmation Classes on Wednesday evenings. These classes meet in two "blocks," with a break for the Christmas holidays. Ninth graders affirm their baptism through the Rite of Confirmation on the 3rd Sunday in October at the 10:30 service.

Adult Confirmation - Pastor Chuck offers instruction as needed.

Communion Study Classes - Fifth graders attend a class on Holy Communion prior to Lent (usually in January and February). This class culminates with the students taking communion on Ash Wednesday.

Library - The Library is located across the hall from the kitchen and just up the stairs from the south entry. A wide variety of materials are available to be checked out by both adults and children.

Vacation Bible School - Vacation Bible School typically meets at Saint Peter during the mornings of the first full week after school is out in June. "VBS" is geared toward children Pre-K (age 3) through sixth grade. Countless parents and older children volunteer their efforts to make Saint Peter's VBS Program a spirited experience for adults and children alike.
